英検1級二次試験スピーチサンプル1「高齢者は現代社会において阻害されている？」

「英検1級二次試験に一発合格したMBAホルダーが公開するスピーチサンプルシリーズ」を始めたいと思います。

はえある第一回目のテーマはこれです。

Are senior citizens discriminated against in today's society?
高齢者は現代社会において阻害されている？

今日はこの問いに対して"No"と主張してみます。

まず、高齢者は阻害されていない！と主張するための根拠をブレストします。

1. 健康保険では高齢者は自己負担割合が低いなど社会保障では優遇されている。
2. 高齢者割引なんてのもある。社会は高齢者に優しい。
3. シニアマーケットは企業にとって重要。企業はこぞって高齢者にサービスを提供しようと競争している。

以上の根拠を思いつきました。

これを元にスピーチをつくります。

結論→根拠1→根拠2→根拠3→再び結論

という構造がスピーチの基本です。

I would like to talk about topic, “Are senior citizens discriminated against in today's society?” My answer to this question is “No”. I do NOT think that senior citizens are discriminated. Let me show you the reasons why I think so.

Firstly, Japanese government does not discriminate senior people. The government really takes care of them. One of the example is health care. When senior people more than 60 years old go to hospitals, they pay less than younger people have to pay. Japanese health care system is generous to senior people.

Secondly, senior people can enjoy “senior person discount”. Senior people can get on buses and subways at a half price of younger people. Also, there are so called “silver pass” for a variety of services such as transportation, and so forth.

Thirdly, senior people market is very important for companies because the number of senior people is increasing and they have time and money. Companies do not discriminate or ignore senior people. Many companies are providing a lot of products and services to senior people.

From these reasons, I believe that senior citizens are not discriminated against in today’s society. Japanese society protects and takes care of them. Thank you very much for your attention.
