英検1級二次試験スピーチサンプル２「高齢者は現代社会において阻害されている？」その2

Are senior citizens discriminated agains in today's society?
高齢者は現代社会において阻害されている？

前回の記事ではこの質問に対し"No"と主張するスピーチサンプルを書きました。

今回は、この質問に対し"Yes"と主張してみます。

まずは、材料を考えます。

高齢者が阻害されている状況として、なにがあるでしょうか。

• 高齢だと仕事が見つかりにくい。
• 年をとると階段を登るのが大変になるけど、バリアフリーが整備されていない施設がある。

２つしか思いつきませんでした。
この質問に"Yes"と答えるのは大変だと気づきました。

では、これを材料にスピーチを考えてみましょう。

I would like to talk about "Are senior citizens discriminated against in today's society?" In my opinion, an answer is yes. I think that senior citizens are discriminated against in today's society from following reasons.

First,it is very difficult for senior people to find a job compared to younger people. Companies would like to hire young people rather than aged people. This is because company have to pay higher salaries to senior people, and in general younger people can learn their job quickly and managers can control young people easier than senior people.

Second, many social infrastructures are not kind for senior people. there are still many buildings that are not barrier free. It is very tough for them to use such equipment.

From these reasons, I concluded that senior people are discriminated against in today's society. I hope that society would become more friendly to senior people. Thank you for your attention.

うーむ。あまり面白味のないスピーチになってしまいました。

でも、英検１級の二次試験では、斬新なスピーチをする必要はありません。ふつうの意見で良いので、意見をちゃんとした構成で順序立てて説明できれば十分です。

このスピーチサンプルは決して満点のできではありませんが、この程度で十分（なはず）です。
